Seip, Neild Selected as NEAC Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s and women’s basketball for the week ending Nov. 25. This week’s selections include student-athletes from Gallaudet University and Penn State Berks.

Matt Seip (Harrisburg, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been named NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week with a pair of double-doubles for the Nittany Lions. In a loss against Cairn, Seip recorded a career-high 31 points with 10 rebounds and four assists. Over the weekend, the Nittany Lions’ senior forward played a pivotal role in a second-half comeback bid at Stevenson with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Seip totaled 57 points, 20 rebounds, eight assists and one block on the week while shooting 47.8 percent from the field.

Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) from Gallaudet University has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after leading all scorers with a season-high 27 points in a non-conference win over Bryn Athyn. The Bison’s senior guard made 11 of 17 shots, including five three-pointers, to finish with a 64.7 field goal percentage. Neild also added six rebounds, five steals, three assists and two blocks in Gallaudet’s victory. In four games this season, Neild has scored a total of 92 points.
