Olazagasti, Jimenez Named NEAC Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Diego Olazagasti and Deismy Jimenez as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s tennis and women’s tennis for the week ending March 10.

Diego Olazagasti (Exeter, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week after earning a pair of wins against Wentworth Institute of Technology last week. The Nittany Lions’ junior competed at No. 1 singles throughout the spring break trip, winning his singles match by a score of 6-2, 6-1. Olazagasti also paired with Curtis Uhle at No. 1 doubles to earn an 8-0 sweep. This is Olazagasti’s second weekly award of the year with his first coming during the fall season.

Deismy Jimenez (Robesonia, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been recognized as the NEAC Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week with two wins during the Nittany Lions’ spring break trip. Jimenez picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles against Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Penn State Berks sophomore also earned an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles with partner Nicole Meek in the same match to help her team secure a 5-4 win.
