SUNYIT's Jane Burroughs Breaks Two School Records In Women's Soccer
GANSEVOORT, NY - Sophomore Jane Burroughs (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) collected a goal and an assist in a 5-2 victory over Morrisville State College Monday, which now places her as SUNYIT’s all-time leader in goals (13), assists (8) and points (34) registered in a season.
Burroughs, who had already broken the points record in last Saturday’s victory over Penn State Berks, needed one goal and one assist to break those records as well. She collected the record-breaking assist at the 58-minute mark and scored the needed goal nine minutes later at the 67-minute mark, which sealed both the record and the Wildcat victory.
In addition to the record-setting day by Burroughs, senior Traci Bickelhaupt (Hammond, NY/Jefferson CC) netted her second hat trick of the season in the win. Bickelhaupt, who earned her second selection as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week this past week, now has 12 goals and 29 points on the year, which are both the second-most ever scored in a season in school history, behind Burroughs.
The Wildcats have now won four straight contests and stand at 7-7 overall (4-3 NEAC).
