NEAC Senior Spotlight: Joe Timm, Cazenovia College

NEAC Senior Spotlight: Joe Timm, Cazenovia College

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Each week throughout the spring semester, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) will highlight a senior student-athlete from one of the conference's member institutions by asking each student-athlete to reflect on their collegiate career by sharing "A Letter to My Freshman Self." This week, we reflect with Joe Timm from Cazenovia College.

Name: Joe Timm
Sport(s): Men's Lacrosse
Hometown: Denver, Colo.

Dear Joe,

One day at a time my man. There’s a whole lot of stuff and a whole lot of people you have no control over. So, control what you can and treat people with respect. It will surprise you how far those two things can take you over your next four years. Learning to love the products of hard work will, in turn, make the hard work more fun, both on and off the field. Just keep your head down, do your thing and, believe it or not, the pieces will fall together in the right way. Most of all, don’t take any of it for granted. Morning runs, last-minute paper cramming, and of course Saturday afternoon conference games are all things you can’t get back in four years. Don’t let them come and go without taking a moment to savor the moment you’re in. And that’s it, you’ll be fine. Later.

Future you.
