Golden, Pegg Earn Third-Straight NEAC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Caitlin Golden and Jessica Pegg as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s soccer for the week ending Sept. 30.

Caitlin Golden (Lumberton, N.J.) from Penn State Berks has earned NEAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for the third-straight week with eight goals and three assists. The senior forward tallied four goals and three assists in a win over SUNY Poly before adding four more goals against SUNY Cobleskill. Golden totaled 19 points on the week to move atop the conference rankings with 20 goals and 46 points.

Jessica Pegg (Rochester, N.Y.) from Keuka College has been named NEAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season after three shutout conference wins. The Wolves’ freshman goalkeeper picked up her third-consecutive award with eight combined saves in victories over SUNY Poly, Lancaster Bible and Gallaudet University. Pegg ranks second in the NEAC with a .839 save percentage and fourth with a 0.94 goals-against average.
