Neild, Rozick Named NEAC Softball Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Hannah Neild and Jess Rozick as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in softball for the week ending March 10. This week marks the first set of awards in softball.

Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) from Gallaudet University has been honored as the NEAC Softball Player of the Week with a .684 batting average in a 3-3 week for the Bison. The sophomore shortstop went 13-for-19 with hits in six straight games. Neild totaled 10 RBIs, eight runs, five triples, four doubles and one inside-the-park home run with a 1.579 slugging percentage. She finished the week with 30 total bases and a .684 on-base percentage while also turning three double plays and picking up 10 assists in the field.

Jess Rozick (Bensalem, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been recognized as the NEAC Softball Pitcher of the Week after posting a 2-2 record in the circle last week. Rozick tossed three complete games and allowed six earned runs in 23 innings pitched. She recorded 21 strikeouts in four appearances, including a pair of games where she sat down nine batters. The Nittany Lions’ senior finished the week with a 1.83 ERA and averaged 6.39 strikeouts per seven innings.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of Saint Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and Wells College. Associate members are: Cedar Crest College (W Swimming), D’Youville College (W Lacrosse), Hilbert College (M&W Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse), Rutgers University – Camden (M Golf), and Wilson College (M Volleyball).
