Omar, Strunk Named NEAC Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Youssef Omar and Greta Strunk as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s tennis and women’s tennis for the week ending March 17.

Youssef Omar (Westlake, Ohio) from Penn State Abington has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week after earning a pair of wins against Penn State Brandywine. The Nittany Lions’ sophomore paired up with Michael Litz at No. 1 doubles to earn an 8-1 victory. Omar went on to also win his match at No. 3 singles by a score of 6-3, 7-5 to earn two of Penn State Abington’s four points on the day.

Greta Strunk (Lebanon, Pa.) from Lancaster Bible has been recognized as the NEAC Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week with a win at No. 1 singles last week. The Chargers’ junior defeated Delaware Valley’s Allie Vaccaro by a final score of 6-3, 6-3 in her singles matchup. At No. 1 doubles, Strunk paired with Michaela Dearborn and suffered a hard-fought 8-6 loss.
