Smith, Rozick Earn NEAC Softball Weekly Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Brianna Smith and Jess Rozick as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in softball for the week ending April 14.

Brianna Smith (Pottstown, Pa.) from the Penn State Berks has been honored as the NEAC Softball Player of the Week after batting .688 with six doubles, 10 RBIs, eight runs and one stolen base against conference opponents last week. The Nittany Lions’ sophomore tied the Berks single-game record with six hits on Sunday while also tying the program record for doubles. Smith had a .688 on-base percentage and a 1.063 slugging percentage in a 4-0 week.

Jess Rozick (Bensalem, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been recognized as the NEAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second-straight week and third time this season after going 2-0 in league games. The Nittany Lions’ senior threw two complete games with one of them being a three-hit shutout at Morrisville State. Rozick recorded 18 strikeouts in 10 innings and allowed just one run to finish the week with a 0.70 ERA.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of Saint Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and Wells College. Associate members are: Cedar Crest College (W Swimming), D’Youville College (W Lacrosse), Hilbert College (M&W Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse), Rutgers University – Camden (M Golf), and Wilson College (M Volleyball).
