Bowser, Ly Selected as NEAC Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Ming Bowser and Michelle Ly as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s tennis and women’s tennis for the week ending April 14.

Ming Bowser (Moses Lake, Wash.) from Lancaster Bible has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week after going 4-0 last week to help the Chargers secure the top spot in the conference standings. Bowser earned victories at No. 4 and No. 5 singles against the College of Saint Elizabeth and Penn State Abington, respectively. The Chargers’ senior also paired with Tyler Norris to pick up two wins at No. 2 doubles over the weekend.

Michelle Ly (Shirley, N.Y.) from Penn State Abington has been honored as the NEAC Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week with two wins to help the Nittany Lions defeat Lancaster Bible, 5-4. Ly won her matchup at No. 3 doubles with partner Jenny Vuong by a score of 8-6, before picking up a crucial point at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 final. The Nittany Lions’ rookie is undefeated in NEAC play with a 3-0 record in both singles and doubles competition.
