Morrisville State Sweeps First NEAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards of 2019

LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Morrisville State’s Megyan Merrill and Sam Wolf as the women’s volleyball Players of the Week for the week ending September 1.

Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) paced Morrisville State's offense as the Mustangs went 3-1 over the weekend in the Morrisville Tournament. Across four matches, the senior accumulated 79 kills, an average of 4.94 per set, while adding two assists and three service aces. Merrill hit .199 for the weekend with a match-high 27 kills coming in a 3-2 win over Penn St. Behrend where she posted 5.4 kills per set. In the win over Simmons, the senior recorded 26 kills, hitting .250 from the floor. Defensively the Millport native added 48 digs and an assisted block.

Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the Morrisville State defense in a 3-1 opening weekend. The senior accumulated a total of 89 digs (5.56 per set), while contributing five assists and two service aces to the offensive efforts. Against Penn St. Behrend, Wolf posted a weekend-high 30 digs in the 3-2 win.
