Baylor-Carroll and Armstrong Named NEAC Basketball Players of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – Donyae Baylor-Carroll from Penn State Harrisburg and Kaitlyn Armstrong from Penn State Berks have been selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) men’s and women’s basketball Players of the Week.  

Donyae Baylor-Carroll (Harrisburg, Pa.) led Penn State Harrisburg to a 2-0 week and improve the team's overall record to 3-1 on the young season. The sophomore flirted with a double-double in a win over Immaculata on Wednesday, netting 10 points and dishing out eight assists to go along with five rebounds and two steals. The guard followed it up with a game-high 25 points in a victory over Haverford on Saturday. The sophomore knocked down six 3-pointers, grabbed five boards and recorded five assists in handing the Fords their first loss of the year. For the week, the Harrisburg, Pa. native averaged 17.5 points per game and shot 53.3-percent from beyond the arc. He was a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe and averaged 6.5 assists and five rebounds per contest.

Kaitlyn Armstrong (Boyertown, Pa.) turned in a couple of strong performances this past week for the Nittany Lions. The junior guard averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 2.7 assists in three games played. In those games, she shot 48.3-percent (14-of-29) from the field and 85-percent (17-for-20) from the free-throw line. Armstrong scored 22 points to go along with four steals, three assists, and three rebounds against Alvernia. She had 16 points and eight boards against McDaniel. Armstrong closed out the week with 10 points and five steals in a win over Thiel.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Morrisville State, Penn College, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Poly, and Wells College.
