VanDemortel & Kubat Named NEAC Runners of the Week for Second Time

LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced SUNY Cobleskill’s Dillon VanDemortel and Ashley Kubat as NEAC cross country Runners of the Week. It is the second time this season that both have collected weekly honors.

Dillon VanDemortel (Newark, N.Y.) was also men’s runner of the week back in week one. Last week VanDemortel finished 10th in the Yellowjacket Invitational in Rochester, New York. The sophomore finished the 8k course in 26:20.3. In a meet with three Division I schools, two Division II institutions, and five regionally ranked Division III institutions, VanDemortel averaged 5:17.9 per mile as the first Fighting Tiger to cross the finish line.

Ashley Kubat (Sloansville, N.Y.) repeats as women’s runner of the week. The sophomore clocked a 26:03.8 over the 6k course at the Yellowjacket Classic in Rochester, New York. Kubat averaged 6:59.4 per mile in a meet that featured three Division I schools, two Division II institutions, and five regionally ranked Division III institutions. Kubat was the top finisher for the Fighting Tigers.
