Five NEAC Institutions Earn Academic Recognition from United Soccer Coaches

LATHAM, N.Y. - Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Penn College, Penn State Abington, and Penn State Harrisburg were honored with team academic awards from the United Soccer Coaches. 

A total of seven teams--five women, two men--from the four schools earn team academic awards. A total of 992 soccer teams (345 men, 647 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year.

Keuka College and Penn College had their men’s and women’s teams make the list. Keuka’s men’s team had a 3.25 GPA and the women sported a 3.43 GPA. It is the fourth straight season the Keuka men have earned the team academic award. The Keuka women have now earned the team award six times. The men from Penn College earned a 3.02 GPA while the women possessed a 3.09. It is back-to-back seasons for the Penn College men and the second time for the women of Penn College. 

The women’s team at Gallaudet had a 3.33 GPA. It is the first season that Gallaudet has received the award on the women’s side. Penn State Abington's women's soccer team earned the team academic award with a 3.31 team GPA. It is the Nittany Lions' first time earning the award. The Penn State Harrisburg women finished with a 3.52 GPA. For Penn State Harrisburg, it is the second straight season.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Morrisville State, Penn College, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Poly, and Wells College.
